Do you want to feel like royalty while in Washington? Then go to Thornewood Castle on Lake America. It chilled me with it's beauty and history.

Spending time in the five hundred year old Thornewood Castle made me feel like royalty. Although Thornewood came to Washington from England in 1907, it still has the feel of a small castle. I stayed in a condo attached to the castle, but was given a key so that I could go in it at anytime I wanted, which was amazing! Going into Thornewood late at night gave me chills but also filled me with excitement. Maybe it was the creaky floors, the ancient paintings, the mirror hall, or the many rooms that created quite an eerie but intriguing ambiance.

“Thornewood is a place where beauty and mystery intertwine perfectly together."

Here's my wondrous Thornewood Itinerary. I was always looking for new nooks and crannies, and at the castle they were easy to come by.

4:00pm: Arrive at SEA-TAC

6:00pm: Check-in at Castle

7:00pm: Eat dinner with friends while looking out on the sunset over the lake

11:30pm: Take our key and unlock the castle

11:35pm: Be in awe of the artifacts and hidden doors Thornewood has to offer

11:45pm: Adventure into the hall of mirrors

12:10am: Quietly head back to the condo

9:00am: Go back to the castle for an elegant breakfast

9:30am: Wander the grounds and admire the large garden

10:30am: Head back into the castle's game room for some ping pong

11:30am: Wave goodbye to the gorgeous Castle... and hope to come again

Highlights

Thornewood was a lovely castle to stay in and I would suggest anyone looking for a weekend getaway or wedding spot to look into Thornewood. http://www.thornewoodcastle.com/ I experienced a wonderful condo that included a full kitchen and snacks. The breakfast was also absolutely spectacular. I received a full meal including fruit, yogurt, toast, bacon, a scone, a quiche, orange juice, tea(or coffee), all well plated. Thornewood will forever entice those young or old to discover it's ellegance.
